EURAXESS ASEAN organizes or co-organizes networking, information and training events across ASEAN. Each event addresses topics of interest to the multidisciplinary community of researchers in ASEAN.
What can we do for you?
- You can visit us on our premises, but it is necessary to schedule an appointment by writing to asean@euraxess.net. We will be glad to welcome you.

Tatas is a distinguished biochemist at Petra Christian University in Indonesia with over a decade of leadership in research strategy, capacity building, and international partnerships. As a former Director of a National Center of Excellence, Vice President of the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences, and President of the Indonesian Chemical Society, he has driven impactful science policies and collaborations. Awarded the Toray Science & Technology Award, Study UK Alumni Award, Kavli fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and Georg Foster Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he is also the founding chair of the Marie Curie Alumni Association Southeast Asia Chapter, fostering EU-ASEAN research networks. Tatas obtained his master's degree in chemistry from the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich and his molecular and cell biology doctorate from the University of Glasgow through the Marie Curie Research Training Network. Within ASEAN, he covers Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Timor Leste.

Leonie is an expert in Education Diplomacy and Sustainability. As the former Director of the Education Department at the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), she led large-scale programmes on education policies, higher education cooperation, teacher professionalisation, lifelong learning, as well as youth leadership across 51 countries in Asia and Europe. Next to her career in international education and education diplomacy, she is the Co-founder of a social enterprise in Singapore that drives circularity in education systems. She received her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences from the Free University of Berlin. Within ASEAN, Leonie covers Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.Collaborate with EURAXESS ASEAN for info sessions and workshops designed to unlock Horizon Europe funding. These programs empower individual researchers to pursue PhD/postdoc opportunities and enhance grant applications, while simultaneously equipping institutional leaders to strategically engage with European research and global consortia, strengthening their global research footprint.
