EPALE is a European, multilingual, open-membership community of adult learning professionals, adult educators, trainers, guidance and support staff, researchers and academics, media professionals in adult learning, and policymakers.
EPALE wants to support and strengthen the adult learning professions. The platform enables members to connect with and learn from colleagues across Europe through its many different contents (such as blog posts, news articles, resources, events, etc.), discussions, the Partner Search tool, Collaborative Spaces and Communities of Practice, the Erasmus+ Space and other features. EPALE provides a wealth of high-quality, accurate information relevant to adult learning practitioners and allows you to share your content with the community.
EPALE is part of the European Union’s strategy to promote more and better learning opportunities for all adults, being funded under the Erasmus+ programme via the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
EPALE is a European Commission initiative led by a Steering Committee including the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) and the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL). Overseen by the Education, Audiovisual, and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the platform is managed by a Central Support Service with the help of 37 National Support Services across Europe. The Central Support Service manages the platform daily, ensures the overall quality of the platform, launches new initiatives and features, runs technical developments and improvements, and coordinates the activity of the National Support Services. The National Support Services moderate the national platforms, launch national initiatives, and cooperate with the other EPALE Support Services all over Europe.

“CONTRIBUTE” includes Blog Posts, News articles, Events, the EPALE Themes (the main topics of interest in Adult Learning), and a page dedicated to all the ways to get involved on EPALE. You can simply read the contributions posted on EPALE and take action by posting your content.
“COLLABORATE” showcases the most interactive features hosted on EPALE: the valuable Partner Search (to find partner organisations for your E+ projects), Groups to cooperate on specific topics, the Erasmus+ Space, the Community of European VET practitioners, the Discussions section, and the Organisations directory.
“LEARN” hosts a great deal of learning opportunities, such as a Resource Centre, a Course Catalogue, the EPALE Resource Kits, as well as EPALE’s Newscasts and Podcasts.
“MY COMMUNITY” highlights the most appreciated content on the platform, as well as the must-reads, the EPALE Community Stories, and the EPALE Hall of Fame with the most engaged members of the community. “ABOUT” is a map containing all the relevant information to guide you through EPALE, including your National Support Service, the national and European stakeholders, an EU Policy page, and this Help & FAQs page.
You need an EPALE account to participate actively in the platform, access all resources, promote your projects, and connect with other community members. Don’t miss this opportunity to get the most from EPALE!
Click the “Create an Account” button on the homepage to start your EPALE journey. The registration system will automatically redirect you to the EU Login site.
If you are already registered with EU Login, simply log in to the site with your EU Login credentials to add an account on EPALE.
If you do not have an EU Login account yet, you can create one from this page. Click on the "Create an account" link on the EU Login main page. After you have filled out the form, you will receive an email to confirm your registration. If you cannot find the e-mail, remember to check your spam or junk folder. The next step is to click the link in the e-mail or copy/paste it into your browser's address bar. Select a password and confirm it t. After clicking on “Proceed,” you will be redirected to EPALE to complete your registration on the platform. Once you have entered the last details and accepted the Community Guidelines, you have completed your registration request to EPALE.
Please remember that your account needs to be validated and activated before accessing the site, and this process generally takes a few days. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your account has been approved. And then… well, welcome to our Community!
On the EPALE homepage, click on the "Login" button.
If you have created an account through EU Login, select "Login into EPALE with EU Login." The system will take you back to the EU Login website, where you can type your EU login credentials. Afterward, the system will take you back to EPALE, where you will be directly logged into the platform.
If you don’t have an EU Login account, click the “Login” button and select “Log in with e-mail and password.” Type the credentials you chose during the registration phase and log in to the platform.
We have created a video tutorial guiding you through all the steps of the registration process. You can access it at the top of this page or at this link.
Click the “Login” button, and select “Login with e-mail and password.” Type your EPALE credentials and click on “Merge EU Login.” You will be redirected to the EU Login page, where you need to enter your EU Login credentials. Do not worry if the emails are different. After this step, follow the instructions, and your accounts will be merged. This way, you can log into EPALE with your EU Login.

On the EPALE top menu, hover over your profile name and select “MyProfile.” Pick the “Edit” option to edit your details.
In the “Profile Details” section, you can add or update details to your profile to enrich your presentation.
In the “Account Information” section, you can update your login data (email and password), only if you access EPALE with email and password. On the other hand, if you are using the EU Login function, these details must be edited directly on the EU Login site, not on EPALE.
Under “Language & Region,” you can update your language and country preferences.
In the “Notifications” section, you can manage your preferences for automatic notifications from EPALE.
From the EPALE menu, hover over your profile name and then go to “MyDashboard” to easily access all your contributions to the platform, such as blog posts, news, resources, comments, groups, and your favourites.
You can add different types of content to EPALE: news articles, blog posts, resources, or events. You can just click on “Add a new post” in each dedicated section, which can be reached under the Menu item “Contribute.” To show you how to add content on EPALE easily, we have created a short video tutorial on publishing content on EPALE: the video is reachable at the top of this page or at this link. It is a tutorial on publishing Blog Posts, but you can also follow it to create other content, as the main steps are the same for all types of content.
You can add images, videos, and pdf files to your posts.
Images
You can add one image in the “Slide image” section, which will then appear in the preview of your content. The recommended size to display the image correctly in the preview is 800x420 px. If you upload an image with a different size, it will be cut if necessary.
You can also add images to the body of your content through the “Insert media” button in the editor menu. Also in this case, the recommended image size is 800x420 px. Images with a larger width will automatically be resized to fit the correct width. Images with a smaller width size will remain as they are, which is not optimal. You will see a preview of the image after saving your post.
Videos
You can use the “Insert media” button to upload videos (mp4, avi, mov, wmv): the file will be available on a video player and will also be downloadable.
PDF files
To upload a PDF file, you need to use the Attachments function located after the Body section. By default, the file will be displayed at the bottom of the post.
EPALE Themes collect the content hosted on EPALE by similar topics. When you upload any content item, you can select the most appropriate themes by choosing them from the drop-down menu “Themes addressed.” First, you need to select the main category (LEARNERS, ENVIRONMENT, SKILLS, POLICY, QUALITY) and then one of the themes associated with the category. EPALE Themes can also be accessed from the main menu, and allow you to navigate the platform by selecting the topic of your interest.
The EPALE Partner Search is a unique tool for exchanging ideas and creating networking opportunities with individuals or organisations. The EPALE Partner Search allows you to create a partner request to build networks with Europe’s adult learning community by inviting others to contact you and get involved. You can also use the EPALE Partner Search to find organisations and individuals who are interested in collaborating with you, simply by searching by country, activity, and organisation type.

Communities of Practice are public online groups where people with similar interests in adult learning come together. Anyone can register to actively participate, but there’s no need to register to read the content. This ensures a wider audience for your public content. You can open a new Community of Practice at this link. Requests will be moderated by the EPALE administrators, and within a few days, you will receive email confirmation of the group's creation.
Collaborative spaces are private online groups where adult learning professionals with similar interests can come together to exchange ideas, resources, and best practices. Each collaborative space has a moderator who can add new people to the group. Collaborative spaces are closed and private groups; therefore, you need to apply to join and actively participate. You can request a new Collaborative Space using this link. Requests will be moderated by the EPALE administrators, and within a few days, you will receive email confirmation of the group's creation.
Erasmus+ Space is a safe and secure tool specially designed for Erasmus+ KA1 and KA2 projects. Project coordinators and their partners can use it for project management and dissemination, as it allows publishing content privately and for the public. The main objective is the implementation of mixed mobility and cooperation projects, in particular, starting with online meetings followed by physical meetings. Erasmus+ Spaces are closed groups; therefore you need to apply to join and actively participate. At the same time, they offer the possibility to publish public content for a wider audience. You can request a new Erasmus+ Space using this link. Requests will be moderated by the EPALE administrators, and within a few days, you will receive email confirmation of the group's creation.
