Welcome to Goodricke College!
Weâre one of Yorkâs oldest colleges, named after the deaf astronomer John Goodricke. At just 21 years of age, Goodricke discovered two âvariableâ stars in one evening, along with Edward Piggott (only four had been discovered prior).
In 2009 Goodricke College moved to Campus East and grew in the process. Weâre now home to around 600 resident students and 1,800 college members.
Goodricke's discovery helped astronomers to measure the size of the universe and his principles still help them find planets today. We hope Goodricke students will also have a positive impact on the world, while aiming for the stars.
