From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)
With the ceasefire in place, UNRWA is stepping up its “back to learning” programme in Gaza, both in person and online.
More than 25,000 children have now joined our “Temporary Learning Spaces”. We will continue increasing the number of such locations.
In parallel, we are running online classes that aim to reach some 300,000 children.
Literacy and education as an antidote to despair and trauma.
None of this would be possible without our thousands of UNRWA teachers.
Every day, they demonstrate that UNRWA works.
