Established in 1989. the Walking Connection is the brainchild of Jo Ann Taylor. Her concept for the company actually began in 1986 when she was a project and marketing manager with Nike. Through her research toward the development of footwear for active adults, she began a personal quest to begin living a healthier and more active lifestyle. As part of her job, she spent time reaching out to the community to share what she learned with other people and teach them how to use the same principles to positively affect their own lives. That led to the original business concept of The Walking Connection becoming a provider of wellness information and lifestyle activities.
