  MANUAL CLEANING EQUIPMENTS Thetype of equipments that are used manually without an external power source and relies on humans are called Manual Cleaning Equipments

  MANUAL CLEANING EQUIPMENTS Abrasives − They are the sharpening stones or grit papers used to polish metal or wooden surfaces. There are various abrasives depending upon the size of grit and adhesion of grit particles on the paper.  Brushes − They are handheld flat brushes with bristles to dust the plain surfaces as well as the corners. They come with non-slip handles and stiff scratch-free bristles. They help removing stubborn dust.

  MANUAL CLEANING EQUIPMENTS Housekeeping Trolley − This trolley is large enough to keep all the guest room and guest bathroom supplies in an organized manner. It makes the housekeeping staff to move it around and carry large number of items in one go while keeping and cleaning the guest rooms.  Dustbins − They are used to collect daily garbage produced in the hotel.  Dusting Cloths − They are soft cloths used for wiping the surface dust.

It cuts through the turf, and removes moss and dead grass. It helps grow spongy lawn. Scarifiers have fixed knife blades attached to the rotary cylinder.  Spray Bottles − They are used to spray water or chemical solutions on the surface that needs cleaning.  Mops − There are various types of mops such as string mops, flat mops, dust mops, and synthetic mops. Mops are generally made of flat cotton strings or heavy-duty sponges fixed on the metal frames.

  PARTS  Lawn scarifiersuse steel blades to cut out thatch; hence it is also known as de-thatching. In machines these will rotate whilst manual tools like the rolling lawn scarifier will not.  Lawn thatch by its very nature is removed more easily by this cutting action and the result is a firmer lawn that allows the passage of air, nutrients and water easily into it. Take scarifying a step further by letting the scarifier blades cut into the soil and you will open the soil surface and make an ideal seed bed for introducing new grass seed to your lawn.

  MECHANICAL CLEANING EQUIPMENTS Box Sweeper − It is electric sweeper that consists of a friction brush. The brush often is fit to revolve vertically or horizontally, when the equipment moves on the surface. It can clean floors as well as carpets. The wider the better is the box sweeper brush.  Vacuum Cleaner − It is again a majorly used equipment in hotel housekeeping. It comes with a suction motor fit in a case, a hose, and various attachment for delicate as well as tough cleaning requirements.

  PARTS  Box Sweeper-A carpet sweeper typically consists of a small box. The base of the box has rollers and brushes, connected by a belt or gears. There is also a container for dirt. The arrangement is such that, when pushed along a floor, the rollers turn and force the brushes to rotate. The brushes sweep dirt and dust from the floor into the container.

  PARTS  When youplug the vacuum cleaner in and turn it on, this is what happens:  The electric current operates the motor. The motor is attached to the fan, which has angled blades (like an airplane propeller).  As the fan blades turn, they force air forward, toward the exhaust port.  When air particles are driven forward, the density of particles (and therefore the air pressure) increases in front of the fan and decreases behind the fan.

It is used where only mopping doesn’t suffice. It can scrub stubborn and sticky stains on the floors of cafeterias, restaurants, lobbies.

  PARTS  Polishing Machine-Itis also known as a floor burnisher if it is a high speed floor buffer with a pad that rotates at over 1000 RPM.  Closely resembling a large upright, wide- based vacuum cleaner with handlebar controls and requiring, until familiar with the machine, two- handed steering, a floor buffer uses one or more variable-speed circular rotary brushes to dislodge dirt and dust from and apply a polished finish to flat surfaces. They have a large, round scrubbing pad which is spun in one direction by a small motor, usually mounted directly over the center of the pad.
