How to add four- to five- digit numbers with regrouping?
Step 1: Write the numbers in columns.
Step 2: Add the ones, then tens, the hundreds, the thousands, and so on up to the greatest place value.
Step 3: Regroup to the next higher place value when the answer in one column is 10 or more.
