Kamzy Gunaratnam was appointed Minister of Transport for the Labour Party in Jonas Gahr Støre's government on 11 September 2026.
She was born on 27 March 1988 and has been an elected representative for the Labour Party in Oslo for several years. She has been a permanent member of the Storting (the Norwegian parliament) since 2021.
In the Storting she has served on the Justice Committee (2021–2023) and the Health and Care Services Committee (2023–2025), and from 2025 was first deputy chair of the Transport and Communications Committee until she became a government minister. She has also been a member of the Labour Party's parliamentary group executive. She sat on Oslo City Council from 2007 and was the city's deputy mayor from 2015 to 2021. She has been deputy leader of the Oslo Labour Party (2014–2023) and has held several key positions in the AUF (the party's youth wing), including as leader of the AUF in Oslo.
