    The lab-created colours inspired by feathers and soap bubbles

    Birds, butterflies, and many other natural objects get their bright colours from intricate structures on their surfaces. Now researchers at NTNU have used the same principle to create colours with clay nanostructures.

    The Kavli Prize to pioneers in Electron Microscopy!

    Congratulations to the four researchers who were awarded the Kavli Prize in Nanoscience on Wednesday 27 May 2020!

    Harald Rose, Max Haider, Ondrej Krivanek and Knut Urban received the Kavli Prize for realizing sub-Ångstrøm imaging and chemical analysis in transmission electron microscopy (TEM) using aberration correction. Their work makes it possible to «see» atoms.

    Removing sticky droplets and making super repellent surfaces

    NTNU research has come closer to making a surface that is self-cleaning even when there is strong humidity. To achieve this, we have combined pyramidical structures with nanowire structures in the nano lab.
