ERC Grants
ERC Grants

The European Research Council (ERC) funds Europe’s most exceptional researchers through a highly competitive process. Several distinguished NTNU researchers have earned these prestigious grants for their groundbreaking ideas.
Recognizing excellence
Rector Tor Grande hosted a celebration for NTNU’s ERC winners from the past three years. Together with Pro-Rector Toril A. Nagelhus Hernes, deans, vice-deans, and department heads, they discussed conditions for groundbreaking research before concluding with dinner and informal dialogue.

New ERC grants
As announced in the European Commission’s publication on 4 September 2025:
ERC Starting Grant to Øyvind Ødegård with the project ARCHEOROBOTICS: Archaeological Robotics for Mapping and Investigating Shipwrecks in the Arctic. Read about the project (in Norwegian).
