𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐬? We never know when war or emergency arrives. What we 𝘥𝘰 know is that innovation and collaboration are keys to tackle the challenges when they come ⚙️🌊 At our next “HAVlunsj” in Bergen, Jorulf Nergard Nergaard from ABB will present how they have been working with partners to enable emergency charging from ships. Existing technology — ready to support communities when the grid is down. You will also hear from: • Lars Jacob Tynes Pedersen & Sveinung Jørgensen, Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH), on preparedness in the blue economy. • Kristian Kasin Nordlie, WSENSE, on technology transfer and multi-use across ocean industries. • 70Blå on fish waste as an unexpected emergency resource. • John Jacobsen, Nordic Circles, on how recycled steel from ships can strengthen Norway’s strategic resilience. The collaborative event will cover how the ocean industries are using innovations from the civilian sector to prepare us for the next crisis, from fish waste to ship recycling. The speakers will give hopeful perspectives on a serious topic – and we will ensure the festive spirit with Christmas porridge and “saft”. Join us on Thursday December 11 at VilVite Bergen Vitensenter in Bergen. In collaboration with: GCE Ocean Technology | VIS - Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap | Maritime Bergen | NCE Seafood Innovation

“𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞” - our clear message at Tekna’s conference on ferries and high-speed vessels ⚓️ Head of Technology and Innovation, Øystein Huglen stress how Norwegian clean technology is mature, market-ready, and capable of delivering real emission cuts. Investing in these solutions doesn’t only help the climate — it builds industry, jobs, and long-term competitiveness. That's why Maritime CleanTech have taken an industry-led initiative backed by Torghatten, Corvus Energy, ZEM - Zero Emission Maritime Solutions, GreenH AS, HYDS - Hydrogen Solutions and Miljøstiftelsen ZERO to call for ramping up emission cuts in public procurement from 60% in 2026 to 95% in 2030 (Link in comments). During the debate with Minister of Climate and Environment Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, we maintain that climate requirements for high-speed vessels are not a future ambition. They’re a present opportunity. These requirements keep the whole value chain moving — no slowing down allowed. Great to see the panel aligned on the need to scale Norway’s high-speed vessel industry. Norway can and should scale its high-speed vessel industry as we push towards zero emissions! 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 2025 is making something very clear. Even with the world shifting around us, the engines of the transition keep running ⚙️ Day 2 kicked off with a series of industry perspectives highlighting how zero-emission solutions are ready to scale, from fjord crossings to deep-sea vessels: 💧 Ammonia engines are in production, hydrogen vessels are demonstrated at sea, and the value-chain for future fuels is developing fast. 🔋With improved battery systems and smart charging solutions on- and offshore, maritime electrification is making new strides. 🤖 Artificial intelligence, autonomous solutions and wind-assisted propulsion systems are creating new opportunities for sailing smarter with less energy use. “It’s not a technical issue anymore. It’s not a supply issue. It’s simply a question of getting the economic model to work” – Andreas Enger, CEO, Höegh Autoliners 💡 “Shore power works – right now. Every time a vessel connects, we reduce emissions” – Maria Bos, Plug | Onshore Power Supply (OPS) 🔌 “We’re not just building vessels, we’re changing the future” – Gavin Forward MEng, CEng, MRINA, Bibby Marine 🌍 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨!
