This week in the International Trade Committee of 6 May: Pascal Lamy, Sabine Weyand, Israel, economic security, Switzerland, Africa
Members will vote on the provisional agreement on global steel overcapacity, on the adoption of the non-legislative report on EU economic security and on the opinions to the agreements with Switzerland and on the changing geopolitical situation in East Asia.
Pascal Lamy, Coordinator of the Jacques Delors Think Tank will present a paper on a new era of EU mini-trade deals.
Departing DG Trade Director-General Sabine Weyand will exchange with Members on the State of Play of EU trade policy.
Members will also exchange on the State of play of the Commission proposal to suspend certain trade-related provisions of the Association Agreement between the EU and Israel and requirements on product labelling.
Members will exchange on the draft oral question and resolution on the state of play of advancing EU-Africa trade and investment relations and will debate the agreement between the EU and the Republic of Korea on mutual recognition in relation to conformity assessments, certificates and markings.
