Réunions ordinaires

The last meeting of DMED took place 19 March 2026 from 09.30-11.00 in Brussels, meeting room ASP 3G2.

Main topics on the agenda were the impact of recent Middle East military escalation on the Mediterranean region and the International Women's Day 2026: discussing women, peace and security.

Exchange of views with:

· Nadia Costantini, Head of Regional Affairs Division, EEAS - MENA.1

· Irene Fellin, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Securit

· Loredana Teodorescu, President of Women in International Security (WIIS) Italy

The DMED meeting took place on 13 November 2025 in Brussels and included Chair's announcements on the next "Forum and Speaker's Summit on the promotion of economic cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean: Revitalising the Barcelona Process on its 30th anniversary" which took place in Cairo on 28 and 29 November 2025.

An exchange of views on building a positive agenda for the Euro-Mediterranean: economic cooperation and shared opportunities took place with:

· Wojciech DZIWORSKI, Deputy Head of the Unit responsible for Egypt, Pact for the Mediterranean in DG MENA - European Commission

· Inmaculada MARTINEZ, Head of Mashreq unit, Operations Middle East and North Africa (MENA) division, EIB Global (remote connection)

· Helena HAHN, Policy analyst at the European Policy Centre (EPC)

The DMED meeting took place on 19 June 2025 in Strasbourg including an exchange of views on the preparation for the 18th PA-UfM's plenary session and 9th Speaker' Summit which took place on 25-27 June 2025, in Malaga with

· Birgit LOESER, Head of Middle East and North Africa Division, EEAS - remote participation

· Katerina WOLFOVA, Head of Unit Egypt, Pact for the Mediterranean, DG MENA - remote participation

The meeting of the DMED took place 24 March 2025 in Brussels including the an exchange of views on a renewed partnership and the New Pact for the Mediterranean with

· Stefano SANNINO, Director General of DG for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf (DG MENA), European Commission
