Working Groups

Banking Union Working Group (BUWG)

Regarding the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM), and in line with the relevant (Inter-Institutional) Agreements, the Banking Union Working Group is tasked with the following tasks:

  • To monitor the implementation of the SSM and SRM and addressing any related matters.
  • To scrutinise the performance of the European Central Bank (ECB) in its role as bank supervisor, as well as the activities of the Single Resolution Board (SRB).
  • To hold meetings with representatives of the SSM and SRM alongside other relevant stakeholders.

Under the current term Mr Markus Ferber (EPP) is the Chair of the Banking Union Working Group. The composition and further background on the Working Group can be found in the document below.
