Komandiruotės

Komiteto sprendimu gali būti rengiamos komandiruotės į valstybę narę, į ES nepriklausančią valstybę arba į tarptautines konferencijas. Komandiruotės rengiamos vykdant komitetui suteiktus įgaliojimus. Į jas vyksta ribotas komiteto narių skaičius. Be to, komitetas ne daugiau nei trims dienoms gali siųsti trijų narių delegacijas į agentūras, už kurias jie labiausiai atsakingi. From 18 to 19 June 2026, a delegation of eight Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Paris to discuss upcoming internation tax challenges, including the taxation of the digital economy, the taxation of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, energy taxation, tobacco taxation. VAT fraud, fight against tax evasion and tax simplification will also be addressed.

From 26 to 28 May 2026, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a Fact-Finding Visit (FFV) to Saint Martin and Guadeloupe on recurring sargassum influxes and the “octroi de mer” dock dues system in the French outermost regions.

From 26 to 29 of May 2026, Committee on Public Health held a mission to Washington and Pittsburgh, in the United States. The delegation was composed of six Members: Ignazio MARINO (Greens), Alessandra MORETTI (S&D), Ruggero RAZZA (ECR), Valentina PALMISANO (Left), András KULJA (EPP) and Valérie DELOGE (PfE).

The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) is travelling to Poland from 26 to 28 May 2026 to gather information about the budgetary implications of enhancing EU preparedness, focusing in particular on defence spending in relation to recent geopolitical shifts. The mission will also look into the issue of border security and the related use of EU funds.

Members of the Internal Market Committee travelled to Martinique to better understand how the EU Single Market works in outermost regions. The visit delved into current challenges affecting fair competition, prices, and access to goods and services. It also explored how EU rules could be adapted to reflect local realities and improve conditions for consumers and businesses in these regions.

From 25 to 27 May 2026, MEPs travelled to South Africa to discuss the commercial relations as well as regional integration. A delegation of eleven Members of the Committee on International Trade (INTA), accompanied by the Chair of the Delegation for Relations with South Africa, travelled to South Africa from 25 to 27 May 2026 to discuss the commercial relations including the implementation of the Clean Trade and Investment Partnership, the first of its kind.

From 25 to 27 May, a delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) of six MEPs led by the Committee Chair David McAllister (EPP, Germany) visited Cape Town, Pretoria, and Johannesburg, South Africa.

The flag of Mozambique features three horizontal stripes of green, black, and yellow, separated by thin white lines, with a red triangle at the hoist. It is the only national flag in the world featuring a modern firearm: an AK-47 assault rifle crossed with a farming hoe, overlaid on an open book.

Members from the Development committee, led by Ms Hilde Vautmans, were on a mission to Mozambique to gather first-hand information on the implementation of development cooperation and on the humanitarian situation in the north of the country. Global Gateway projects in the energy and digital sector and EU actions to support education, employment and youth were in focus.

79th World Health Assembly 18-23 May 2026

From 20 to 22 of May, SANT held a delegation to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, on the occasion of the 79th World Health Assembly (WHA). The delegation was composed of six Members: Tilly METZ (Greens), Nicolás GONZÁLEZ CASARES (S&D), Ondrej DOSTÁL (NI), Vlad VASILE-VOICULESCU (Renew), Ivan DAVID (ESN) and Aurelijus VERYGA (ECR).

The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) will travel to the United Kingdom from 15 to 17 April 2026 to gather information relevant to the UK’s participation in EU programmes and instruments in selected areas such as research and innovation, youth mobility, and security and defence. The mission will provide for in-depth exchanges with UK authorities and key stakeholders on the state of play, future perspectives, and mutual benefits of enhanced EU-UK cooperation.

The purpose of this mission was (i) to gain first-hand insight into the challenges the European Union Agency for Asylum had and to evaluate the measures they implemented after the European Parliament decided to postpone the 2023 discharge to the Agency; and (ii) to allow CONT Members to meet Maltese national authorities in charge of the implementation of EU funds and to evaluate the control measures put in place by the authorities to guarantee the protection of the financial interests of the EU.
