On 3 June 2026, ENVI and TRAN Members discussed the draft report on the Commission proposal on Clean Corporate Vehicles, which is part of the Automotive Package. The proposal aims to accelerate the uptake of zero- and low-emission vehicles in corporate fleets while supporting industrial competitiveness and the transition to cleaner mobility.
On 2 June 2026, Members held an exchange of views with Commissioner Lahbib on preparedness, civil protection and crisis management as part of the structural dialogue.
On 2 June 2026, ENVI Members considered the draft report on the revision of Regulation (EU) 2019/631 on CO₂ emission standards for cars and vans, which forms part of the Commission’s Automotive Package.
On 2 June 2026, ENVI Members held a discussion regarding the Commission report on the simplification review of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Director-General Eric Mamer presented the report and accompanying simplification measures aimed at facilitating the implementation of the Regulation and reducing the administrative burden for operators.
On 2 June 2026, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with the European Environment Agency and the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change on two reports on climate adaptation, published in February 2026. The exchange provided an opportunity to discuss the impacts of climate change and recommendations for strengthening the EU’s adaptation policy framework.
On 1 June 2026, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with Commissioners Hadja Lahbib and Jessika Roswall on the Commission Communication on wildfire management. It provided an opportunity to discuss the Commission’s approach to address the growing risks posed by frequent and severe wildfires across Europe.
On 1 June 2026, ENVI Members held an exchange of views with the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), ahead of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties, which will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from 19 to 30 October 2026. The ENVI committee will send an ad-hoc mission to follow the Conference’ proceedings and exchange with country representatives and stakeholders.
On 1 June 2026, ENVI Members examined whether the EU is on track to meet its biodiversity targets, based on the EU’s 7th National Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity. The discussion comes ahead of COP17 in Yerevan in October 2026, which will serve as the midpoint review of global efforts to meet the 2030 biodiversity targets.
On 5 May 2026, the Commission presented the Food and Feed Safety Omnibus simplification package in a joint ENVI–AGRI meeting. Published on 16 December 2025, the proposals were referred to both committees under Rule 59. The Commission representative will outline the main elements of the package and its objectives.
