Next FISC Subcommittee events
From 18 to 19 June, a delegation of Members of the FISC Subcommittee travelled on a mission to Paris (France).
The next FISC meeting will take place on Thursday, 25 June, from 09.00 to 12.00.
The agenda will include:
• Presentation of the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) study on "VAT reverse-charge mechanism"
• Consideration of the draft report on the VAT reverse-charge mechanism (rapporteur: Pierre Pimpie, PfE)
• Consideration of amendments to the own-initiative report on The EU's approach to corporate tax policy in a changing international environment (rapporteur: Kinga Kollár, PPE)
• Joint CONT/FISC Exchange of Views with the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO), the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) and Eurofisc on "Cooperation in the fight against VAT fraud in the EU"

On 25 June 2026, from 10:45 to 12:00, the FISC Subcommittee will hold an exchange of views with Ms Laura Kövesi, European Chief Prosecutor (EPPO), Mr Petr Klement, European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) Director-General, and Ms Marina Marinelić, Chair of Eurofisc on 'Cooperation in the fight against VAT fraud in the EU'.
From 18 to 19 June 2026, a delegation of eight Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Paris to discuss upcoming internation tax challenges, including the taxation of the digital economy, the taxation of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, energy taxation, tobacco taxation. VAT fraud, fight against tax evasion and tax simplification will also be addressed.
On Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the FISC Subcommittee will discuss the amendments tabled to the draft report on the feasibility of a 28th tax regime and its potential to support EU competitiveness. The draft, which was prepared by rapporteur MEP L’udovít Ódor (Renew), focuses on taxation aspects that could be included in the recently published Commission proposal for a 28th regime corporate legal framework - 'EU Inc.'.
On Tuesday 2 June, the FISC Subcommittee will discuss the draft report on the EU’s approach to corporate tax policy in a changing international environment. This draft, which will be presented by the rapporteur Kinga Kollár, addresses notably the challenges for the EU’s corporate tax framework that rise from the recent agreement on a ‘Side-by-Side approach’ to minimum taxation.
On Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC) will organise a public hearing titled “Combating VAT Fraud: Evaluating the Impact and Future of the Reverse Charge Mechanism”. Experts will present their views and discuss with FISC Members the role of the reverse charge mechanism in addressing VAT fraud within the EU VAT system, particularly Missing Trader Intra-Community (MTIC) fraud.
Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Brasília, Brazil, from 26 to 28 May 2026 in order to discuss developments in the area of international taxation and the fight against tax avoidance and evasion.
