A delegation of the TRAN Committee visited South Korea in October 2025 to explore innovative technologies that can help address current challenges in the transport sector, with a particular focus on autonomous driving technologies.
In September 2025, a delegation of six Members of the European Parliament from the TRAN Committee, representing five different political groups, participated as observers in the 42nd General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal to support the EU’s aviation priorities at the global level.
The TRAN mission to Ireland examined several key infrastructure projects by the Irish Government which focus both on strategic infrastructure development as well as contributing to national and EU-wide climate goals.
The TRAN Committee visited Malta between 26-28 May 2025 to gain first-hand insight into the specific transport and connectivity challenges of this small, densely populated Member State, with particular attention to links between Malta and Gozo.
The TRAN mission to Aragon, Spain, in February 2025 aimed to enable its Members to gain first-hand insight into how the region has leveraged its location between two TEN-T corridors (the Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors) to become a top-tier logistics hub at the European level.
In October 2024, the TRAN Committee carried out a fact-finding mission to the region of Marseille to discuss with local authorities and companies the challenges of decarbonising the transport sector.
