When I have version 5.0.1.1 of the free AIOSEO installed, it’s breaking Divi 5. Background images and design settings are being retained from the first page I created and automatically being added to subsequent pages I add. I’m unable to override this. In the image below, there should not be a background image, and the row is overlapping its container at the bottom because of heigh settings on another page.

    Hi @c2itconsulting ,

Thanks for the detailed report and the screenshot. This is a known conflict between AIOSEO and Divi 5 that our developers have already fixed, and the fix ships in the next AIOSEO release.

Here’s what’s happening: AIOSEO scans your page content early in the page load to generate SEO data. On Divi 5, that scan quietly advances Divi’s internal style counter, so the styles Divi caches for each column end up attached to the wrong sections. That’s why backgrounds and design settings from one page bleed into other pages.

Until the update is out, we have a small code snippet that stops this. You can add it safely with the free WPCode (https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/) plugin. First, download the snippet file here and unzip it so you have the .json file in your Downloads folder:

Then follow these steps to import it:

    1. Log into your WordPress site and go to Plugins > Add New.
    2. In the Search plugins field (top right), enter WPCode.
    3. Click the Install Now button next to the result for WPCode as shown in this screenshot – https://a.supportally.com/i/tpZaaJ
    4. Click the Activate button.
    5. Go to Code Snippets > Tools in the WordPress menu and click the Import tab as shown in this screenshot – https://a.supportally.com/i/PqbWyh
    6. Click Choose a file under WPCode Snippet Import and browse to the .json file you unzipped to your Downloads folder.
    7. Select the file and click Import.
    8. Click Code Snippets in the WordPress menu and you should see the snippet on the list. It’s called Fix AIOSEO + Divi 5 Frontend Layout (Column Index Shift).
    9. Click the Status toggle for this snippet to activate it.

After activating it, clear Divi’s CSS cache, since the broken styles are already cached: go to Divi > Theme Options > Builder > Advanced and click the Clear CSS Cache button at the top right of the header. If you use a caching plugin or your host caches pages, clear that too. Then reload the affected pages and the stray backgrounds and height issues should be gone.

One thing to know while the snippet is active: AIOSEO can’t auto-generate meta descriptions from your Divi 5 page content, so if any pages rely on auto-generated descriptions, set them manually in the AIOSEO Settings for those pages. Once the next AIOSEO update is released and installed, you can deactivate and delete the snippet.

Let me know if you run into any problems.

    Thanks!

@aurangajeb perfect, thank you for the detailed response. Is there an estimated release date for the next update?

    Hi @c2itconsulting ,

I don’t have the exact release date for now, but I’ll let you know once we release the fix.

    Have a wonderful day!
