Homebrew no longer publishes Intel macOS (tahoe) bottles for openssl@3.5, so these cross-compiled jobs fail whenever the monthly OpenSSL cache misses. Removes the
macOS – x86_64entries from the Lint and Test matrices, along with their x86_64 OpenSSL setup steps. The repo is in maintenance mode, so this drops the jobs rather than maintaining a workaround.Why: these jobs cross-compile for
x86_64-apple-darwinon an ARM runner, using OpenSSL headers unpacked from Homebrew's Intel (tahoe) bottle. Homebrew no longer publishes Intel macOS bottles foropenssl@3.5(oropenssl@3). When the monthlyopenssl-x86_64-macOS-YYYY-MMcache misses, the download step produces no headers andopenssl-sysfails with'openssl/opensslv.h' file not found. CI has been red for this reason since 2026-10-01, the first cache miss after #3407.Not changed: release builds.
build.ymlstill builds the x86_64 and universal macOS binaries with the same Homebrew OpenSSL download, so release builds will likely fail the same way. Stopping the Intel macOS release is proposed separately.via Daniel Szoke.
