Academic positions

Recruitment for academic positions is held in accordance with the Academic Career Management established by the TalTech Senate. Recruitment takes place by public competition and internally within the organization, but as a rule, the positions are filled by public competitions. Notices of public competitions will be published on the university’s website and in other media as appropriate.

After the application deadline, the candidates’ recruitment documents will be forwarded to the Recruitment Committee (applications for Professor positions) or to the Head of Department (applications for other academic positions). A candidate may be required to give a public lecture (venia legendi). Based on the application documents submitted, the candidates will be evaluated and ranked. Then a ballot will be held in the relevant Council and the holder of the position will turn out. The candidates will be informed of the results first chance after the election.

Non-academic positions

For fulfilling non-academic positions, as a rule, a competition is announced or a targeted search is carried out.

The competition is organized by the Personnel Office based on the information given by the Head of the department.

Preliminary analysis of candidates for a non-academic position is based on the analysis of required application documents (resume, cover letter, motivation letter, etc.). The selected candidates are then called for an interview; depending on the position, different forms of testing and assignment are carried out. With the candidate’s prior consent, a background study is also carried out.

Both the immediate supervisor and a Personnel Office employee are involved in the selection process. If necessary, other persons shall be involved.
We will try to send feedback to unsuccessful candidates within one month after the deadline for sending CVs.
