If the people creating this music did not feel that they were being fairly compensated, then why did they not just ask for more from the people actually making the games? That seems like the simplest solution.

Put another way: what what do you like about uxntal in particular compared to the the other languages in the same family of concatenative languages?
Whoever does not understand Monads is doomed to reinvent them.
It’s not even an balanced tree! What a monster!

Privacy•The world wants to ban children from social media, but there will be grave consequences for us all | Taylor Lorenz
5·19 days agoWhat a weird false dichotomy. A planet with well over 7 Billion people can do at least two things at once.
You are correct in general, but one cannot do two things at once when the first thing is (at least, arguably) a necessary prerequisite to the second thing.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is America in the Wag The Dog territory because in the movie the pres was caught up in some sex stuff and fakes a war. Or am I just reading to much into our dipshit in Orange?
6·1 month agoIt’s worth noting that when the movie first came out the “conventional wisdom” was that it was referring to Bill Clinton.
The other thing he [emphasis mine] got wrong is “prompt complexity/coaxing”.
She, actually.
Yes, it is the scripting language of TempleOS.
It is worth noting that the more fundamental thing going on here is that abstract syntax trees are the general way in which programs are represented after being parsed, rather than this being something specific to Lisp. What makes Lisp interesting is essentially that it uses a notation that makes the underlying AST incredibly explicit.
I think you mean: it is one of the most brain dead comments you have ever hurd about Linux.
In fairness, the cost of selling their souls to the Dark Lord Sauron also does not show up in this graphic.
Cent O-S is com-ING, to TOWN!!!
You have probably (deservedly!) blocked me by now, but in case you have not, I apologize from my other comment. Apparently the standard you all have in the lemmy.ml memes community is different from other memes communities, so what looked to me like you were posting a meme that was completely inappropriate was a complete misunderstanding on my part. I have unsubscribed from this community to preclude the possibility of future misunderstandings.
Ah, I only just now noticed that this post was made in the lemmy.ml memes community, which is very different in the kinds of posts that it has than most communities that call themselves “memes” communities. Personally I think that you all have awful taste, but taste is subjective so I withdraw my objection that this particular meme is trash.
I was about to unsubscribe, but curiously I don’t seem to currently be subscribed to it, which is odd because it definitely appeared on my front page at one point; if that is because the admin kicked me out, then I would like to kindly thank them.
Just so you know, since you are apparently now going to start spamming the meme community with trash, you have become one of a select few on my block list.

4·1 month agoAlso, I respect your insistence on using a term other than American to describe people from the US.
Because no one else belongs to a state and so calling ourselves “statesians” is therefore better?
That might have been an apt name at first, but the UX has come along way since the early days.

Is the COBOL committee still working under the assumption that it currently is and will always be the dominant language?
