Turn on Session Recording

Enable it in Opti-Behavior Pro settings and choose the scope — every page or only specific URLs. Admins are not recorded by default; add ?opti_behavior_test_recording=1 to preview a recording as a visitor.

Are session recordings stored on my server?
All recording data is stored in an encrypted file-based storage on your own server. Nothing is sent to external servers. Self-hosted: visitor data stays on your own server.
How many sessions can I record?
There are no session caps or daily limits. Every visit can be recorded, and you can include or exclude specific pages, user roles or traffic sources in the recording settings.
Does recording slow my site down?
The recorder captures DOM changes instead of taking screenshots or video, so it does not re-render your pages. It loads first in the head so no session starts late, and compatible caching and optimization plugins are handled automatically.
Can I mask sensitive content in recordings?
Yes. Inputs such as passwords, emails and card numbers are masked before capture, and you can add CSS selectors to hide any other element. Anonymous mode masks all text and blocks profile images, and consent mode records only after the visitor’s consent event.
How do I find the sessions that matter?
The recordings list offers 20 filters in four groups — visitor, session, pages & traffic and UTM — including browser, country, device, OS, duration, entry and exit page and watched status. You can save any combination and reuse it.
Can I control playback speed?
Yes. The player plays at 0.5x, 1x, 2x or 4x, and Skip Inactive jumps over idle stretches. You can also jump to any event from the timeline, or loop a moment to watch it again.
Does it track users across multiple pages?
Yes. One session follows the visitor across your site, and the page timeline lists each page with time spent, events and clicks, so you can watch a journey from the home page to checkout without losing context.
Does it show rage clicks, dead clicks and errors?
Clicks that trigger nothing (dead clicks) appear as events on the session timeline, and JavaScript errors get their own marker with a Go to this moment button. The Errors module lists them across all sessions.
Can I download or export recordings?
Yes. You can download an individual recording as a file from the list or the player, to archive it or share it with a teammate who has no admin access.
Does it work with caching plugins?
