TWT Chapel of St Peter-On-The-Wall Bradwell on Sea Essex The Chapel is one of the oldest churches in England and is still an active place of worship today. The Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall was constructed between 660 and 662 AD by St Cedd, who was sent to evangelize the East Saxons. It is built on the site of a Roman fort, utilizing its bricks and stones, making it a unique blend of history and architecture. The chapel is recognized as a Grade I listed building, highlighting its architectural and historical importance. It was reconsecrated in 1920 and is now maintained by the Othona Community. The chapel serves as an active place of worship, hosting regular services, including a Thursday morning Communion service. Special services are held during Christmas and Easter, and the chapel is a destination for the Bradwell Pilgrimage, which occurs annually in July
