Oh, ok. The problem then is probably related to a custom color profile you may be using with macOS. This is sadly a general macOS issue with some malformed custom profiles - with such the macOS gamma table control API causes a black screen when an app attempts to alter colors. You can fix this either by

  1. using the macOS generated factory color profile or one of Apple's first party profiles (like "Display P3" etc), or try to create a different profile which does not result in a blank screen,
  2. or turn off color table control for the display under Image Adjustments, or generally in the app under Settings > Overview
