I build open-source tools and open knowledge for sensory stimulation,
computational music, signal processing and scientific interoperability.
That work includes SSTIM, an open vocabulary and specification for
representing sensory-stimulation protocols, so experiments and devices can
describe what they do in terms other tools understand; and
music, a Python package for
extreme-fidelity synthesis of musical elements implementing the MASS
framework, maintained in the open since 2016 with every release archived and
citable.
Sponsorship pays for the unglamorous work that keeps scientific software
trustworthy: fidelity tests, full coverage, documented equations, releases
that still reproduce years later. It also buys the time to keep the
specifications open and vendor-neutral instead of folded into a product.
For institutions and companies: I take on commissioned features,
integration and interoperability work, and sponsored development. Results
are released under the same open licenses, so you get the implementation,
