Reformat all code with black and add it to CI pipeline. While I am not the biggest fan of double quotes everywhere there is value in having consistent style everywhere.
Improve code generator:
- Add return argument names wherever possible. With generator the argument names of method are not exposed on introspection #48
- Add ability to override the interface class name: --override-interface-class-name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Device.Team NetworkManagerDeviceTeamInterfaceAsync
- Add ability to override specific method name: --override-method-name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Device.Vxlan Id vxlan_id
- Idea is to be able to create a script that can regenerate all interfaces from upstream introspection. Maybe add the python interface to the code generator so that giant shell scripts won't be required.
Investigate Jedi and see if ParamSpec support would be possible. This opens up support for async to blocking adapters: Experimental async to blocking D-Bus interface adapter #60
Maybe add a new option to the parse_* function that takes a service name. Using the service name the interface classes can be directly made in to D-Bus proxies so that parse_* functions will return the proxies object directly. Typing should work with the @typing.overload.
Investigate moving build system to meson. This would allow using systemd as meson subproject which will make building wheels easier.
Investigate fully static wheels using the elogind and musl. Currently the wheels are linked with old version of glibc but that makes them not work on musl systems and makes them hard to build.
