Do you imagine doing something similar for Android, so other TAK clients that are not ATAK could work out of the box? |

The primary channel being channel zero is unlikely to change anytime soon. We are going to be removing the ability to do TAK traffic on the public defaults altogether soon though, because as you pointed out TAK is traffic intensive and most of that traffic doesn't really interest the public mesh. It's more of an ad-hoc private net use case. Kicking it only over to a different private channel without also considering the frequency slot would still create the same issue, but it would be less visible, since all of that traffic would just appear as a lot of encrypted packets on the mesh. |

Just add LongFast as your Channel 1. |
This is incorrect. Just make sure your Frequency Slot in your LoRa settings is set to 20 (not 0) and it will work. This is how most people use a private channel as their Primary and put LongFast as a Secondary. I do it all the time. |

LOL, I always have to smile when I see comments along those lines. Shows to me how, understandably so, yet questionable long-term, the focus on a plethora of frequency slots is in Meshtastic. Hopefully, we can turn that thinking around. Thinking of efficiency first, instead of just brute-force using up all TX slots there are, regardless of frequency slots and spreading factor / coding rate, would be what I recommend. Maybe for v3 of the firmware? Most of those cool use cases, be it sensor mesh or ATAK or positioning, 0-cost-hops etc., are all but useless in the European EU_868 scenario with the current mesh protocol of managed flooding. Too few frequency slots (mostly 1 on EU_868), cannot beat physics ... How do you obtain a Server Certificate (generate and apply a .p12)? |

Why do you need to generate one? Are you setting up TakAware? |

Cant start the TAK server in the updated Meshtastic App without one. |

you can generate .p12 using installed OpenSSL (https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html) and load it in meshtastic app. ask ai for steps, it's not a hard. don't forget use flag -legacy when generation for old encryption format. |

Still cannot get this to work. The server will not start as there is no .p12 certificate and I do not know where to obtain one. |

Can you post a screen shot of the settings tab under TAK Server? The certs are all bundled in the app, you can add your own if you need but it not necessary to start the TAK Server. To connect a TAK client like itak or takaware you need to upload a server data package. The Meshtastic-Apple app has a button at the button of the TAK Server settings tab. It is called "Download TAK Server Data Package". When you click this it will have you save a .zip file locally. Once you have that zip file you use that to configure the server connection in your TAK client. |

I see the pic, never encountered this. The certs are literally embedded in the App. So somehow its been deleted or there is some weird ios stuff happening. Do you have like Lockdown mode enabled or any other settings not typically used by ios users? Suggest uninstalling, and reinstalling. |

How can I get a Meshtastic tracker device that I can see on Meshtastic to show up in TAK like the Android plugin to ATAK does? |

I am a bit confused, because I started the server on Meshtastic and exported the zip file. BUT... Do I import the zipfile using the data package import? I ask because I did and it has no effect on ATAK,; the server section on ATAK shows no server info and is not meshing at all with my other ATAK/Mestastic devices, so, some clarification is needed in the explanation on how to do this. |

This feature, as I see here, seem s to be directed to the IOS world, but guess what, it is present in the Android Meshtastic app as well! BUT...it doesn't seem to be working and moreover, the meshtastic forwarder plug in has just stopped working with this version of Meshtastic! So now I am stuck with a forwarder that doesn't work and a server that there is no details how to log-in with in ATAK. Any light here? |

Thanks so much! So I have the server working on iOS device. And I have atak/meshtastic running on an android device. Both are functional. I'm confused as to how to get the 2 devices integrated. Both have meshtastic installed and using 2 sensecap t1000e for location. I need the apple to see the android on same map. (doing some back country hiking in Utah and Colorado) |

Hmm yes. I'll doue chk again. But yes, bother were changed from client to tak role. I was using channel 1. It gets confusing where all of these setting are. I'm confirming in the meshtastic app? Or in itak/atak |

Greetings, How do I set ATAK to see this Meshtastic server? I know it uses port 8089 but what IP is used? With the new version of Meshtastic, the plug-in stopped working, so I need to get this working. Thanks in advance! |
