MailKite Trademark Policy

"MailKite", the MailKite logo, and the kite mark (together, the "Marks") are trademarks of MailKite. The code in this repository is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only, but that license does not grant any rights to the Marks. Files under brand-assets/ are not covered by the code license and are all rights reserved.

You may, without asking

  • State truthfully that your software is built on, compatible with, or derived from MailKite Server ("powered by MailKite Server", "a fork of MailKite Server").
  • Use the Marks in articles, talks, reviews, and documentation about MailKite.
  • Link to mailkite.dev and this repository.

You may not, without written permission

  • Use the Marks (or confusingly similar names — "MailKite Pro", "MyMailKite", "mailkite-hosting", etc.) in the name of a fork, product, service, company, domain name, or package.
  • Offer a hosted or managed service under the Marks or branding that suggests it is provided or endorsed by MailKite.
  • Use the logo or kite mark as your own product's icon or branding.

Forks must rebrand: remove the logo, rename the product, and clearly state the fork is not affiliated with MailKite. Retaining "originally based on MailKite Server" attribution in docs is welcome.
