GPU Shark 0.2.5

This stable release replaces the previous Win32/GDI dashboard with a modern,
resizable egui interface while preserving GPU Shark's read-only telemetry
architecture.

Highlights

  • Added a compact sensor table, live sparklines, detailed sensor history and
    current/minimum/average/maximum statistics.
  • Added persistent light and dark themes, accent selection, English and Russian
    localization, refresh settings and optional Windows startup integration.
  • Added SHA-256-verified one-click updates from official GitHub releases.
  • Kept LibreHardwareMonitor Hot Spot readings disabled on GeForce RTX 50-series
    cards. RTX 50 HotSpot comes only from the read-only native GPC-register
    provider and is never synthesized from Core or Memory temperatures.
  • Kept unverified RTX 50 register readings marked BETA and unavailable when no
    usable native value exists.
  • Fixed update resource handling, archive-path escaping, restart failures and
    clipped controls below the sensor table.

Beta release: adds automatic update checks and a one-click verified update install.

  • At startup the app performs a single anonymous HTTPS request to the public GitHub releases API (User-Agent only, no machine data). A Settings toggle can disable it.
  • The About view offers "Download and install": the release ZIP is downloaded and verified against SHA256SUMS.txt before unpacking, then applied with an atomic executable replacement that keeps a rollback backup. Nothing is downloaded or installed without an explicit click.
  • The embedded public runtime is now the v0.2.4-beta.2 provider (RTX 50 register HotSpot and beta Memory temperature are unchanged from 0.2.4-beta.2 telemetry behavior).

GPU Shark remains strictly read-only. Feedback is sent only after explicit consent, and the provider implementation remains outside the public source tree.

Download GPU-Shark-win-x64.zip and verify it with SHA256SUMS.txt. The runtime ZIP is supplied for developers building the public Rust GUI source.

RTX 50 enhanced temperatures (beta)

  • Fixed false HotSpot readings on GeForce RTX 50-series cards: the
    LibreHardwareMonitor Hot Spot and Memory Temperature channels are now
    rejected on the whole lineup after a confirmed false RTX 5060 Ti reading.
  • HotSpot is read through a read-only GPC register path validated on the
    desktop RTX 5050 (10DE:2D83); the register map also decodes correctly on
    RTX 5060 Ti (GB206).
  • Added a beta Memory temperature channel on RTX 50 cards.
  • On boards without a same-board validated profile, HotSpot falls back to an
    explicitly unverified beta aggregate and stays marked BETA; otherwise N/A.

Beta release: adds evidence-gated HotSpot support for the exact desktop GeForce RTX 5050 10DE:2D83 profile. HotSpot rows on GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs are marked BETA; unavailable values remain unavailable. This release stays read-only and does not expose provider source or private diagnostics.

GPU Shark 0.2.3 fixes the feedback layout and adds a localized About view.

  • Fixed feedback labels and dark text fields.
  • Added the GPU Shark logo, version and read-only/Beerware information to About.
  • Kept English and Russian top navigation separated by measured GDI spacing with matching click targets.
  • Made the public CI source build reproduce the official standalone single EXE from a checksum-verified runtime.

GPU Shark 0.2.2

GPU Shark 0.2.2 makes the native Windows dashboard easier to configure and
moves NVIDIA PerfCap into the regular sensor experience.

Highlights

  • Added a persistent native Settings window for language, refresh interval and
    accent selection, with safe recovery from malformed settings.
  • English is now the default interface language; the complete Russian UI and
    feedback flow remain available in Settings.
  • NVIDIA PerfCap is now a regular selectable sensor row with a categorical
    detail view and no misleading numeric graph.
  • Refreshed the public README with a support table, roadmap, build guide and
    contribution workflow.
  • Preserved the official single-EXE distribution, read-only hardware boundary
    and explicit-consent feedback model.

GPU Shark 0.2.1

This stable hotfix restores native-provider telemetry in the standalone
single-executable package.

Fixes

  • Fixed the embedded runtime loader so the matching native provider is loaded
    from GPU Shark's private runtime cache and retained for the application
    lifetime. PerfCap now works without placing DLL files beside GPU-Shark.exe.
  • Replaced file-size-only runtime cache checks with exact byte comparison to
    prevent stale same-size components after an update.
  • Preserved the official single-EXE user distribution and read-only hardware
    boundary.

GPU Shark 0.2.0

GPU Shark 0.2.0 is the first stable release of the native Windows sensor
dashboard.

Highlights

  • GPU-Z-compatible NVIDIA PerfCap reasons: Pwr, Thrm, VRel, VOp,
    Idle and SLI, including combined active reasons.
  • Stable sensor identities keep selection, graph history and maximum tracking
    across known provider display-name changes.
  • Unsupported measurements remain hidden; Memory Clock remains disabled while
    its provider semantics are under review.
  • Read-only operation and consent-based privacy boundaries are unchanged.
  • Standalone GPU-Shark.exe user package.
  • Public Rust/Win32 GUI source under Beerware with a separate matching runtime;
    telemetry-provider implementations and debug symbols are not published.
