When the SMLLexer gets fed the string "exception" it seems to loop indefinitely. Here's a simple example:
from pygments import highlight
from pygments.lexers import SMLLexer
from pygments.formatters import HtmlFormatter
code = 'exception'
print(highlight(code, SMLLexer(), HtmlFormatter()))
Tested on both
