The Edit
Workspace
The Edit workspace is your creative hub,
much like a director's control room for a
movie. Here, you will assemble video
clips, add background music, and refine
transitions for your project, such as
creating a highlight reel of a school play.
It's the primary area for bringing all your
visual and audio elements together.

on any track containing visual content, in other words, not audio tracks.
Getting Clips into
Your Library
To begin editing, you first need to bring
your video clips and photos into Corel
VideoStudio's Library panel. You can easily
import files from your phone, a digital
camera, or even a specific folder on your
computer's desktop. Once imported,
these media files are readily available for
you to drag and drop into your project
timeline.

Timeline view
Timeline View gives you the most
comprehensive display of the elements in
your movie project. It divides a project
into separate tracks for video, overlay,
title, voice, and music.

1 — Show All Visible Tracks: Displays all tracks in your project.
2 — Track Manager lets you manage the tracks visible in the
Timeline.

Your Project's
Storyboard
Arranging Clips Precisely
The Timeline panel is where you actually
build your video project, like a digital
storyboard. It's the core area for
sequencing and arranging all your video,
audio, and image clips. Imagine you're
creating a short film about your summer
vacation; this is where you decide the
exact order of every moment.
Here, you drag and drop your media files into the
precise order you want them to appear in your
final project. You can place your opening video
clip, then an image of your friends, and finally,
add a background music track. This panel lets you
control the timing and flow, making sure your
story unfolds scene by scene, just as you planned.
Timeline Tools: Precision Editing
• Trim handles: Adjust clip start/end points
precisely.
• Split tool: Cut clips into smaller segments, like
scenes.
• Use these tools to refine video timing and flow.
Navigating Your Video Journey
