Watch asking for Apple account sign in while swimming

This only happens when I am swimming and using the Activity app. It does not happen for any other activity and does not happen at any other time.

Steps taken so far - signed into account several times, turned off automatic app installation, reviewed all installed apps to see if there is a problem, updated to latest version.

Any suggestions will be welcome.
