My iPhone struggles to charge past 80%.

My iPhones not charging past 82%.

Hey, ***around that time i noticed my phone charging extremely slow passed 80%, at the time i had a charge limit of 85%, i turned it off as well as clean energy charging, this did nothing, i eventually downgraded to ios 18 and this issue still persisted, now i am on ios 26 the latest release, and only when i keep it overnight, my phone reaches 82% at its max. Also, sometimes my phone seems to be stuck at a certain charge, which eventually increases after a hard reset.

Let me get this clear;

I use an official apple charger and the cable that came with my iPhone, even with other official and non official apple chargers and cables this issue still prevails .

I know it could be a heat issue, but i have consistently encountered this issue even in an ac chilled room.

My phones battery capacity is at 100% and it has 174 charge cycles currently.

Is this an issue seen by many people? Any suggestions?

Is this a common problem? And are there any solutions/suggestions that could help?

So, fair to say that the phone is about 10 months old and that the Battery Health / Maximum Capacity would have been 100% at that time when the phone was brand new.

A general guideline as far as Battery Health decline is that the battery will lose about 1% of its capacity every 2 months, so it would be normal to expect that the battery's Maximum Capacity would be about 95% at this time.

Another slightly more accurate method of deterring battery health is that the battery is normally expected to decline about !% for every 50 Charge Cycles. Using that gauge, the battery would be expected to be at about 96.5%. 175 Charge Cycles divided by 50 = 3.5%. Apple always rounds down the Battery Health number, so call it 96%.

I'm wondering how a battery that would normally be at 95-96% at this time is still showing 100%, which would not be expected. Unless you have a truly amazing battery, something is not right. If the phone won't charge past 80% when you have Charge Limits off, that would confirm again that something is not right.

I would recommend that you make an appointment at the Apple authorized shop to have the battery checked and tested.

For a month or two, I would also recommend that you turn off the Charge Limits and set up the battery for Optimized Battery Charging and connect the phone to the charger at night and leave it connected all night.....every night. Then, take a look at the battery settings to see where the Maximum Capacity is reading at that time.

Hi, i purchased the phone new on march 31 last year, i purchased it online (noon.com) in the uae, the batteries manufacture date was in January 2025 (if that helps). I purchased the phone new and i did also verify with it apple using its serial number. It has 174 cycles done, also since i posted this, i left it to charge overnight at 80% and it now reached 81% (no charge limit is on).

My iPhone struggles to charge past 80%.
