Admissions

At Children’s International School, we aim to make the admissions process as smooth and welcoming as possible. The business administrator is responsible for enrolling students and ensuring they are placed in the correct grade level. Our business administrator is your go-to contact for all admissions-related matters, including paperwork, procedures, and general questions.

Admission to Children’s International School is open year-round, and students may enroll at any grade level. Once an application is submitted, the student is placed on a waiting list for the requested grade. The length of the admission process may vary depending on class availability.

We welcome students from all backgrounds and do not discriminate in any part of our admissions process. English proficiency is not required to join CIS. While enrolled, students are supported in learning English at their own pace, with guidance and help until they gain independence in the language.

As a private school, CIS charges tuition fees in line with national regulations. Additionally, we offer a warm lunch prepared by our private chef, available to students for an additional fee.

About CIS

At CIS Sarspborg, our primary goal is to deliver high quality education by facilitating a good learning environment. We offer small class sizes to ensure personalized learning and attention, where the subjects are led by dedicated and highly skilled teachers. Every student is supported and challenged according to their individual level, with a strong emphasis on the four core pillars: English, IB, arts and technology, encompassed by classroom environment.

Students' learning hours take place between 08:00 and 14:30, where the length of the school day vary within the different grade levels. During the school day, students have several breaks, including a fruit break, lunch in the canteen, and time for outdoor recess. We also offer after-school programs, including SFO for grades 1–4 and a homework club for grades 5–10.

English is our primary language of instruction, and our diverse teaching staff represents a variety of international backgrounds. By integrating the IB and Norwegian curriculum, we offer a unique bilingual program that helps students build strong proficiency in both English and Norwegian from an early age.

As an IB-authorized school, we are dedicated to fostering internationally minded learners. We implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades 1–6 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 7–10. Children's International School offers a rich and varied art program, including choir, instruments (violin, cello and double bass), dance, visual arts winter and summer concerts as well as drama production.
