On 19-20 November 2025, the Delegation for the relations with Central Asia, chaired by Giusi Princi, hosted the 22nd EU-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (PCC) in Brussels. The agenda reflected the broad areas of the bilateral cooperation - such as the leading role of the EU as trade and investment partner and the strategic logistic hub provided by Kazakhstan - as well as issues of mutual concern such as the war against Ukraine and the relations with Russia, the situation of human rights in the country and climate change.

The meeting was held in camera.

21st EU-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, 31/10-2/11/2024

From 31 October to 2 November, 11 MEPs of the Delegation for the relations with Central Asia (DCAS), chaired by Ms Giuseppina Princi (EPP, IT), visited Astana and Almaty and held the 21st EU-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, different meetings with a number of Ministers and meetings with human rights defenders and activists and visited NARXOZ University in Almaty.

The agenda of the meetings covered crucial issues such as strengthening of the bilateral political and economic partnership, the circumvention of sanctions to Russia, the Transcaspian Corridor and the cooperation on the field of energy and of fighting of climate change, not to mention the need to enforce political pluralism and media freedom in this key country in Central Asia.
