Welcome to the ENVI Committee website.

With 90 Members, ENVI is one of the two largest committees in the European Parliament. This is a strong symbol and a clear signal underlining the need for the EU to continue the efforts toward a more sustainable, climate-resilient and cleaner Union.

For many European citizens, climate change is a physical reality, not a theoretical debate. During this mandate, we will continue to work on the transition we have embarked on, through the actual implementation and delivery of the Green Deal. This is necessary to complete a fair and equitable transition to a greener economy and equip our Union to cope with the consequences of climate change. This is also necessary to reinforce our strategical autonomy.

We will continue our work on other policy priorities such as the circular economy, biodiversity, air and water quality, the use of chemicals and pesticides - just to name a few. Ensuring safer food for all Europeans will also be high on our agenda. We will make sure to maintain a 'One Health' approach, which interconnects people, plants and animals to tackle global health challenges. We will also work hard to ensure that the policies we develop are coupled by sufficient investment and funding. Finally, we will closely scrutinise the implementation of policies we have agreed to.

Ambitious policies succeed when they are built with the people. This is why I am committed to the highest level of transparency to increase citizens' understanding and participation in our work. This page, on which you will find a great deal of information about our Committee, is one of the tools to ensure this transparency.
