Workshops
Workshops werden von den Fachabteilungen organisiert und ermöglichen den Mitgliedern, Fragen an Sachverständige zu Aspekten im Zusammenhang mit der parlamentarischen Tätigkeit oder mit aktuellen Themen zu richten und sich mit ihnen auszutauschen. Sie sind nicht zwangsläufig öffentlich, können aber im Rahmen von Ausschusssitzungen stattfinden.
The Policy Department for Justice, Civil Liberties and Institutional Affairs of the European Parliament has organised, upon the request of the Committee for Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, a Workshop on the Anti-Racism Strategy 2026 – 2030 proposed by the European Commission on 20 January 2026, following up its Anti-Racism Action Plan 2020 – 2025.
On 16 July 2025, the European Commission presented its proposal for a new basket of own resources, together with the proposal for the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028–2034.
On Thursday 4 June 2026, during the HOUS Committee meeting, the Policy Department for Transport, Employment and Social Affairs will hold a workshop entitled "Housing for students and young people in training".
The Committee on Legal Affairs, with the support of the Policy Department for Justice, Civil Liberties and Institutional Affairs, organized a workshop on the evaluation of the Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Directive 2004/48/EC. The event took place on 3 June 2026, from 15:00 to 16:00.
On Thursday, 16 April 2026, the Policy Department for Economy and Growth will host a workshop with FISC Members to present a study on “Excises on Tobacco products in the EU. Impact on the internal market of the minimum rates of excise duty and the wide availability of alternative tobacco products currently not covered by Council Directive 2011/64/EU on the structure and rates of excise duty applied to manufactured tobacco.”
On Thursday, 16 April 2026, the Policy Department for Economy and Growth will host a workshop with FISC Members to present a study on “Feasibility of a 28th tax regime in supporting EU competitiveness.”
On 15 April 2026, a workshop on Territorial Supply Constraints (TSCs) will take place from 10h00 to 11h30 during the IMCO committee meeting. In its 2025 Single Market Strategy, the EC identified unjustified TSCs in retail and wholesale among the "Terrible Ten" most harmful remaining barriers to the internal market. During the workshop, experts will discuss the most prevalent TSCs with Members of the European Parliament and provide forward looking perspectives on how to tackle them.
On 9 April 2026, the workshop will address key elements of the proposals for the 2028-2034 EU budget and the related sectoral legislative initiatives pertaining to the post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The budgetary implications, including allocation mechanisms and financial architecture, as well as the proposed CAP governance model will notably be discussed.
The Policy Department of the European Parliament organised for the Committee for Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, a Workshop on ‘What Europeans Think about Immigration and Why It Matters’. The event focused on scientific evidence regarding public perceptions of immigration’s effects, given that even when based on factual data, people’s perceptions can vary markedly.
On 18 March 2026, in the context of the SANT legislative own-initiative report on the EU Rare Disease Action Plan, a workshop on rare diseases took place, where experts presented key insights on the situation of rare diseases in the European Union, the main challenges faced by patients, and recommendations for EU action, which was followed by a discussion with Members of the SANT Committee.
