The European Patent Office is continuously improving its online patent granting services MyEPO to make the patent workflow more efficient and easier to navigate.
From a refreshed homepage and easier access to data, to full support for colour drawings and enhanced account security — here’s a quick look at the latest updates.
🏠 A new MyEPO homepage experience
· At-a-glance overview of all pending actions and their status, ready to act on
· Enhanced batch functionality for multiple applications in one go
· Direct access to essential tools
📘 Bibliographic data easier to access
Patent and application views now include a dedicated bibliographic data panel.
🎨 Adding colour to the patent process
From 1 October, colour and greyscale drawings are fully supported in electronic filings — no longer converted to black and white.

⚖️ Legal practitioners on their way
From 1 October, legal practitioners can create and join associations, as well as update their own information in the MyEPO’s Representative Area.

EPO account owners can now secure their accounts with biometrics or a physical security key.

💻 Farewell eOLF
Only a few weeks left. The desktop-based Online Filing (eOLF) software will be discontinued end of the year. As of January 2026, Online Filing 2.0 (OLF 2.0) will be the standard tool for filing patent applications online.
