CONVEYOR SORT PUZZLES IS ON FIRE! 🔥 TOP 10 HYBRIDCASUAL - # 4 WEEK, FEB, 2026 In recent days, we have witnessed one of the most astonishing deals in the history of the mobile gaming market. 🤯 Loom Games, developer of the big hit hybridcasual “Pixel Flow,” has acquired by giant Scopely for a valuation of $1 billion. 💰💰💰 With the scaling stage beginning at the end of October last year, “Pixel” has seen explosive growth, reaching over $43 million in IAP revenue. 🚀 Its key innovation appears to be the shooter block conveyor belt, which adds an extra layer of challenge compared to its inspiration, Voodoo's “This is Blast.” Well, not surprisingly, the mobile gaming industry has started its flood of releases inspired by “Pixel.” 👀 Not by accident, there are 2️⃣ more Conveyor Sort Puzzles in the weekly Top 10 hybrids list. Sixth, we have “Sand Loop” by Voodoo, whose main feature is pixel pieces simulating grains of sand 🪣 , along with a shorter conveyor. And seventh, “Yarn Flow” by Combo Games, whose primary interaction involves changing the theme from pixels to knitting. 🪢 Another highlight is AlphaPlay Games' “Happy Screw Trip 3D: ASMR,” which blends a MakeOver metagame with Screw Puzzle gameplay. 🔩 Although unusual, the combination has been producing good results. 📈 Over the past six months, “Happy” has generated around $11 million in IAP revenue. 💰 Last but not least, Hybridcasual is synonymous with puzzles. 🧩 Of the top ten games, nine are puzzles. 100,000 wishlists at launch and only 1,000 sales. A horror story for any indie developer 😱🎮 How did this happen? Why is the conversion only 1% (when 20% was expected)? And is it true that wishlists “don’t work anymore”? Let’s figure it out🤔 Background: ▫️ Indie developers raised $50k+ on Kickstarter and were making the game ▫️ A month before release, they had about ~7,500 wishlists ▫️ Promotion, apparently, was weak: the goal was to release the game and “confirm their reputation” with Kickstarter backers AND THEN SUDDEN GROWTH HAPPENED 🚀 At some point, 3,000–5,000 wishlists per day started coming in. The creators didn’t understand where from. They were happy, of course. After all, they got 100,000 wishlists at launch. And that’s a huge chance for good sales💸 Game $10 → sounds like a million in the first year! Minus taxes and fees, of course, but still romantic❤️ Reality at release Only 1,000 sales Conversion ~0.1%. Painful😖 What actually happened The game and the “offer” were placed on the Raijin website, where there was a giveaway🎁 To participate — you had to add the game to your wishlist In fact — it was a fake boost of empty wishlists These people came for freebies, not the game. And their 100k wishlists didn’t convert into anything❌ Who started the giveaway — unknown: one of the participants, someone external, or the developers themselves. Essentially — a gray method🤷 Why it doesn’t work ▫️Yes, you can get into Popular Upcoming, but Steam sees no one buys, and won’t give extra traffic ▫️Empty wishlists don’t generate sales, mess up metrics, and mislead the team❗ Conclusion Beware of “empty” wishlists.
