🌐What does the future of AI-native product development actually look like? Last week in Oslo, we brought together the people building it. The Visma AI Engineering Pioneers Summit gathered 45 of our frontrunners — engineers, CTOs, and AI enthusiasts from companies across Europe and Latin America. Two days. One shared mission: learn from the best, so the best can get even better. Scaling together. That's the power of the Visma network. When pioneers from across the continents come together to openly share real use cases, hard-won lessons, and honest conversations about what building with AI actually looks like today, the whole group moves faster. The pace of change isn't slowing down. The leaders who will define the next decade aren't the biggest; they're the fastest, the most local, and the most connected. That's Visma. 170 companies. One group. Decentralised by design, powerful by nature. Learning and scaling together. We're proud of the pioneers across our companies who are already showing the way. 🚀 #AIEngineering #Visma #ProductDevelopment #ArtificialIntelligence #Innovation

💡 Mission-critical software and 'move fast and break things' don't mix. Our CEO, Merete Hverven, on why reliability is the real AI feature that matters for the 2.5 million businesses we serve.

In the AI era, trust is the ultimate software feature We recently studied what drives nearly 2,000 small business leaders' willingness to choose and pay for business software. While "safe and secure" and "reliable" both featured in the top five, "AI-powered" landed second to last. Is this telling us that they don’t care about AI, or they just don’t care about the hype? I firmly believe it’s the latter. They might not care about technology for its own sake, but they care deeply about the efficiency and administrative benefits AI can bring. However, a florist in Berlin or a plumber in Warsaw isn’t racing to build their own AI solutions. They just want reliable solutions that make their life easier. At Visma, we see a future where our 2.5 million SMB customers use AI agents to handle large parts of their accounting workflows with superhuman speed and accuracy, and where AI offers a "virtual CFO", giving them data-driven strategic advisory once reserved for the largest enterprises. We're building this now, and faster than at any point in our history. This is how AI reaches the real economy. It’s not through everyday businesses becoming prompt engineers, it’s through the systems already running them. For an entrepreneur managing payroll for twenty people or filing taxes across three jurisdictions, software isn't just a tool for productivity. It is a tool for survival.  Through that lens, our customers’ ranking of AI is a sophisticated risk assessment. In the mission-critical world of accounting and payroll, the cost of an error is not a minor glitch - it is a legal liability or a broken relationship with the employees depending on you. The true value of AI here is empowering the human in the loop - enabling faster, better decisions. But that requires a deterministic core underneath the intelligence. When a government changes a VAT rate at midnight, a business owner doesn’t want an AI to "hallucinate" a plausible figure. They need a hard-coded system that ensures every invoice issued the next morning is legally valid. That’s the difference between AI as a feature and AI as infrastructure.   The "move fast and break things" ethos of pure AI experimentation is fundamentally incompatible with mission-critical applications that keep economies running. The entrepreneurs in our study weren't rejecting AI. They were showing us how they want it: reliable, secure, and woven into the tools they already depend on, so they can spend less time on tax returns and payroll, and more time on the reason they started their business in the first place. That’s not a constraint on AI’s potential, it’s how AI reaches the real economy.

🎯 Stop chasing the #AI revolution. Start mapping your friction. According to Wilson Guo, VP RevOps, Data & AI at Teamleader, the biggest mistake leaders make is starting their AI strategy with the tool ("What can AI do?") instead of the problem ("Where are we still operating too slowly or manually?"). "If you roll out AI on top of messy data, inconsistent definitions and unclear ownership, you risk scaling the problem instead of solving it." 💡 Wilson shares his framework for real, business-driving AI adoption: ➡️ The only valid measure of AI: is it improving a decision or a customer outcome? (Hint: Usage is not ROI.) ➡️ Why the real win is AI as a first-draft engine for synthesis, not 100% automation. ➡️ The human skill AI makes more important than ever: Problem Framing. ➡️ Why adoption is a behaviour challenge, not a technology challenge. Swipe to stop wasting time chasing the wrong questions. #AIStrategy #BusinessTransformation #RevOps #Visma
