Opera wins two back-to-back Lovie awards

Hello there,

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded two 2025 Lovie Awards! The Lovies recognize the best of European internet excellence in the fields of culture, technology, and business – the European web’s highest internet honor. This year, amongst over 1,200 entries from 36 European countries, we managed to win two Lovies:

We also took home two Lovie Awards last year, and we couldn’t be happier to receive these awards yet again. For us, it is a big deal to have our browsers be recognized, and we want to celebrate that with the people that make it possible: our users (yes, that means you ☺️).

The Lovie Award Ceremony

This year, the award ceremony took place in Amsterdam – where European excellence is clearly represented by the city’s ingenious canal system, unique architecture, and status as a European tech hub.

The ceremony included an insightful talk by Jesse Feister, ex-Twitch Creator Marketing Head and current Executive Director of the Webby Awards, in which he elaborated on how we can generate trust in AI. Feister laid out four key principles in which AI can be used to create content that’s well received by audiences, and  generates trust in them. They are:

  • Credibility – when the source that creates the AI generated content is credible, the audience will engage with it;
  • Utility – when the AI serves a defined purpose, it legitimizes its use by the one employing the AI;
  • Autonomy – when the use of this technology can empower us, as creators, to be more autonomous;
  • Transparency – when we’re honest and transparent about what’s being created with the use of AI.

These takeaways are key to understanding how this technology is evolving and how we can always make the best use of it in our workflow. This is not only interesting, but also relevant for us since Opera Neon was being awarded within the category of AI Apps and Experiences: Experimental & innovation. In that context, Feister’s words become a guideline on how to use Opera Neon in your day-to-day work.

(Yes, that’s us taking all of this in! You can tell we were all laser-focused on Mr. Feister’s talk.)
