Who deserves the Improved Recovery Award?
11/25/2025 The time has come to nominate candidates for this prize, which was first awarded in 1998. Back then it was known as the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s IOR Award.
You can nominate production licences, companies, suppliers, individuals or others for their efforts to improve recovery from mature projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Criteria for the Improved Recovery Award
We’re looking for candidates that
- use new technology, or apply established technology in a new way
- use smarter work methods and processes
- are willing to take risks, are bold and show courage
- apply outstanding research
- achieve energy-efficient improved recovery

The deadline is 1 April. The prize will be awarded during ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) in August 2026.

Dry well in the North Sea (2/6-8 S and 2/6-8 ST2)

DNO and its partners have drilled a dry well in the "Page" prospect in the southern part of the North Sea, about 270 kilometres from Stavanger and 40 kilometres from Ekofisk.
