Preventable and treatable diseases are only preventable and treatable for some. (RED) works to end that injustice.

About us

Founded by Bono & Bobby Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS, (RED) partners with the world’s most iconic brands and people to create products and experiences that raise money, heat and urgency for global health crises. Every action you take with (RED) saves lives. To date, (RED) has generated over $800 million for the Global Fund, helping more than 325 million people. (RED) funding supports life-saving programs that empower health workers and provide testing, treatment and care in places where injustice has enabled pandemics to thrive.

Twenty years ago, Bono and Bobby Shriver founded (RED) with a simple but radical idea: that the private sector could be a force for good in the fight against AIDS. Two decades and $800 million in funds raised later, they’ve helped more than 325 million people access life-saving healthcare. To mark this milestone, Smiley® is doing something it has never done in its 50-year history. It is turning (RED). A Smiley Sha(RED) is a landmark collaboration running throughout 2026, with the first products available now and more launching throughout the year. Every purchase supports (RED)'s efforts to fight HIV/AIDS and strengthen healthcare systems worldwide, building toward World AIDS Day on 1 December. Two icons. One purpose. This is just the beginning.
