This mission of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) took place in Argentina (Buenos Aires and Salta) from 30 March - 1 April 2026. In Buenos Aires, MEPs met with members of the government including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and high-level staff of the Minister for Security as well as with members of the legislative. They also held meetings with representatives of the social partners, academia and civil society.

The mission of the DMER Delegation took place in Uruguay and Paraguay from 27-29 October 2025.

Several Members of the Parliament of Mercosur (Parlasur) came to the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 17-19 June 2025. Among bilateral meetings with various Committee Chairs, they met with the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) on 18 June 2025.

This meeting of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) of 9 December 2024 highlighted an Exchange of views (via video conference) with the President and members of the Executive Bureau of Parlasur on the state of play of the bilateral relationship, with particular reference to the Association Agreement EU-Mercosur.

In order to facilitate a swift start into the new legislative term, the Parliament has prepared for the new Members a series of brochures providing a detailed information on the EP's role in the external policies of the EU as well as the work of standing inter-parliamentary standing delegations.
