A Travel Advisory has been issued as a strong storm impacted the region.
A State of Emergency was declared for the Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk and Westchester counties. It also extends to counties contiguous with these.
A coastal flood warning and a wind advisory have been issued for Long Island, New York City and Southern Westchester counties through 8 p.m. on Monday.
The United Nations Headquarters complex will remain open, however, staff should take travel conditions into account before travelling, and subject to exigencies of service, managers should exercise their discretion in allowing staff to telecommute.
Staff are reminded to exercise caution and to continue to monitor weather conditions.

New York City Emergency Management has issued a Travel Advisory for the evening of Tuesday, 9 January into Wednesday morning, 10 January 2024, as a strong storm impacts the region.
A Flood Watch is in effect citywide from 6:00 p.m. tonight to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. Rain may start off light with heavy rain developing in the evening and continuing through early Wednesday morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
A High Wind Warning is in effect for Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island from 6:00 p.m. tonight to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for the same time for the Bronx and Manhattan.
